According to the philanthropist, the total sum of donations distributed over the past year “exceeds seven hundred thousand dollars.”

The Portuguese entrepreneur, born in the Azores and residing in Somerset County, stated that the amount was divided among “various police departments, sheriff’s offices, and other organizations.”

As is widely known, César DePaço is a strong supporter of causes related to law and order, having donated nearly three million dollars to various American and even Portuguese law enforcement agencies.

The social component also concerns him, which is why, on numerous occasions, he provides support to organizations or individuals in need.

Among the entities that benefited in 2024 from the generosity of the CEO of Summit Nutritionals International, whose aid knows no boundaries, were the Flemington Borough Police Department, Table of Hope, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Bound Brook Police Department, Far Hills Country Day School, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Peapack & Gladstone Police Department, and Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

In Portugal, he also became a supporter of the Iberian wolf conservation cause in 2024, a species on the brink of extinction.

De acordo com o mecenas, a soma de donativos distribuídos no ano que findou “é de mais de setecentos mil dólares”.

O empresário luso, que nasceu nos Açores e reside no condado de Somerset, adianta que a soma foi repartida entre “vários departamentos de polícia, xerifados e outras organizações”.

Como se sabe, Caesar DoPaço é um grande apoiante de causas ligadas à lei e ordem, tendo já feito chegar a diversas polícias americanas e até portuguesas perto de três milhões de dólares.

A componente social também o preocupa, pelo que, não raras vezes, faz chegar apoios a organizações ou indivíduos com carências.

On Wednesday, Chief Michael DeCarolis and the Far Hills Police Department accepted the donation “for an undisclosed amount.”

“This very generous donation will allow the Far Hills Police Department to purchase a brand-new vehicle for our police fleet. This will play a crucial role in enhancing our ability to effectively serve and protect the residents of Far Hills,” said DeCarolis.

DeCarolis added that DePaço’s “kindness and commitment to law enforcement continues to help make a real and meaningful impact on the lives of those we are sworn to protect. We are proud to have him as our Far Hills Police Department Liaison.”

E, como tantas vezes faz em situações similares em que a sociedade civil é chamada a intervir, o CEO e fundador da Summit Nutritionals Internacional puxou dos seus galões de mecenas e anunciou um donativo com vista à criação de um posto para um polícia a colocar naquela unidade de ensino durante o ano lectivo de 2024-25.

“A dedicação da família DePaço à segurança em ambientes educacionais e na comunidade em geral, tornou possível esta adição à equipa de segurança da escola”, anunciou a Far Hills Country Day School, em comunicado que teve eco na imprensa norte-americana local.

A escola primária privada está localizada no 692 da Route 202, em Fair Hills, NJ, e foi fundada em 1929.

“Sabendo dos muitos tiroteios que infelizmente têm afectado escolas nos Estados Unidos, achamos por bem, eu e a minha esposa, fazer esta contribuição”, justificou Caesar DePaço, em declarações ao jornal LUSO-AMERICANO.

O donativo feito foi de 66.204 mil dólares.

A unidade escolar anunciou ainda que a posição foi já preenchida e está a cargo do agente Chris Muscianesi.

K-9 Kyro will serve alongside Master Deputy Marcus Dawson, whose previous partner, K-9 Baro, retired in August.

Kyro, a German Shepherd, was born in Poland on Dec. 13, 2022.

He was purchased from the Alabama Canine Law Enforcement Officer’s Training Center after a generation from Dr. César DePaço and his wife, Deanna Padovani-DePaço.

Kyro is the 10th dog donated to the agency by the DePaço family since 2015, saving taxpayers over $110,000.

The $13,500 donation covers not only the cost to purchase the dog, but covers additional costs associated with training, specialized equipment, healthcare needs, and food as well, according to the sheriff’s office.

“We thank Dr. DePaço and Deanna for their continued support of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and always supporting our K-9 Unit,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “They have graciously donated every K-9 we currently use to serve our community by locating criminals, locating and seizing narcotics, and helping find missing persons.”

The name “Kyro” was chosen over finalists “Rico” and “Atlas” after receiving over 1,500 comments on social media.

“Thank you to our social media community for helping us pick out a great name,” added Staly. “K-9 Kyro has big paws to fill replacing K-9 Baro, but I have no doubt he will be an excellent addition to our K-9 Unit. He has some extensive training ahead of him but will soon be ready to take a bite out of crime in no time!”

Like his predecessor, Baro, Kyro will be trained in both patrol and narcotics detection.

The name “Kyro” was chosen after FCSO asked the public for suggestions on social media. After receiving over 1,500 comments across Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), the agency announced on social media that the winning name was picked over finalists “Rico” and “Atlas.” All three names were suggested by members of the public.

“Thank you to our social media community for helping us pick out a great name,” added Staly. “K-9 Kyro has big paws to fill replacing K-9 Baro, but I have no doubt he will be an excellent addition to our K-9 Unit. He has some extensive training ahead of him but will soon be ready to take a bite out of crime in no time!”

Like his predecessor, Baro, Kyro will be trained in both patrol and narcotics detection. He has already begun his training after receiving a clean bill of health from FCSO’s veterinarian.
